Dina is a Registered Nurse, a Published Author, Speaker, Educator and Certified LGBTQ+ Business Entrepreneur. She is CEO of Dina Proto International, an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Consulting firm where Dina uses her more than 25 years in healthcare experience to improve patient outcomes by helping to reduce unconscious bias in the healthcare profession through the use of evidence-based research to educate health care professionals, patients and families regarding the impact of one’s sexual orientation and gender identity on the medical care they receive.
In her book, Identity Impact: When Society’s Expectations Collide with the Authentic Self, Dina explores the clinical correlation between society’s projection of gender role and identity and healthcare disparities.
As a long time LGBTQ+ advocate, Dina, along with her wife Dina (“Dom”) co-founded Teazled Greeting Cards in 2011 and were a driving force in increasing inclusivity within the Greet Card Industry where Dina was active within the Greeting Card Association. That involvement ultimately left a lasting impact with greeting card manufacturers learning the value of providing inclusive products for their stakeholders.
Dina is the Founding President of the Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Nevada (GLCCNV), the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s only Nevada affiliate, in 2014. Upon her relocation to Florida in 2017, Dina was named President Emeritus. During her tenure, Dina was integral to facilitating Las Vegas as the host city for the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce Annual Business & Leadership Conference in 2014 along with the commitment of NGLCC to return to Las Vegas for the Annual Business & Leadership Conference every 3 years; a first in the history of NGLCC with conference leaving an economic impact of more than 4 million dollar footprint within the local community.
Dina has been recognized for her LGBTQ+ advocacy by Senator Harry Reid, Congresswoman Dina Titus as well as by the WNBA Las Vegas Aces for her lasting impact in the community.
Dina has been featured in Business Equality Advocate, Tagg Magazine, The Advocate, KNPR, and The Las Vegas Review Journal.
